Main features

X development was focused in Deeply Embedded Systems use. These systems have severe restrictions regarding deadline meetings and processing power.

X Real-Time Kernel provides an environment were several tasks can execute concurrently on a single embedded processor. X kernel provides services can exchange messages, share resources on a controlled way and use timers.

X kernel also manages interrupts and provides an Hardware Abstraction Layer for accessing peripherals such as UART, I2C, SPI, I2S, GPIO, Timers, USB (Host/Device and OTG stacks) and Ethernet (TCP/IP stack).

X main features are:

    • Low processor time usage.
  • Low memory footprint (~ 8kbytes code and ~600 bytes data)
  • Low interrupt latency
  • Robustness:
    • Stability, exception handling.
  • Deterministic execution times.
  • Performance:
    • Context switching as low as 1.5 microseconds on ARM7TDMI@66MHz core
